What are wagering requirements and how do they work?

"Playthrough" or "Wagering" Requirements are requirements a player must meet before they can withdraw any winnings from a particular promotion. This includes how much they can wager and/or deposit before a withdrawal is permitted.

The amount that you wagered is applied to the playthrough amount of your bonus. For example, your bonus has a "playthrough" or "wagering requirement" of $1000 - if you make a $1 wager and win, and then make another $1 wager and lose, your total "playthrough" is still $2 with a remaining "playthrough" of $998.

An example of a wagering requirement might be "20x". This unit is calculated differently, depending on the type of promotion you claim.

Here are some examples:

Example 1: 100% Match Bonus
Match Bonuses require a deposit made by the player and matched up to a given percentage by the casino. The deposit from the player might $25, which means a 100% match equals a $25 promotion, for a total of $50. This promotion may have a wagering requirement of 20x, which means 20x your Deposit + Bonus.

  • Equation: 20*(25+25) = $1000 wagering requirement
This means that before you can withdraw, you must wager $1000 on the allowed games of the promotion.

Example 2: 25 Free Spins
Free Spins are free wagers the player gets on one specific game. Once the free spins are finished, the promotion may require a deposit to receive your winnings and wagering requirements on the winnings. Assume you won $100 on Free Spins, and the wagering requirement might be 20x your winnings.

  • Equation: 20*100 = $2000 wagering requirement.
This means that before you can withdraw the $100 winnings, plus any winnings you receive while wagering - you must wager $2000 on the allowed games of the promotion.

Lastly, always confirm the wagering required for specific games on a given promotion, since not all wagers on that game are directly applied to the requirements.

Keep in mind, some games may only apply 50% of the wagering to the play through requirements (for example, Blackjack, Video Poker, etc.) - meaning that if you place a $2 bet on one hand, $1 of that bet is counted toward the promotion's terms.
